Pendant of the day by Ethora

Tree of Life Pendant

Our Pendant of the day comes to us from Ethora. Here is what she says about her trees.

"It is a Tree of Life to those who hold it fast, and all who cling to it find happiness." When I craft my Tree of Life pendants I feel as though I am on a magical journey through culture, color, and form. My intent is to create a precious and wearable work of art that invites its beholder to climb upon its branches and bask. Crafted from recycled sterling silver and natural gemstones. Approximately 40mm in diameter.
Ive seen many tree pendants but always find myself coming back to Ethora's shop. Her tree pendants have a little something extra. They are very well done, detailed, attractive, neat, colorful and more importantly, look like actual trees. I love the colors in this one, which is why I have selected it as our pendant of the day.

The concept of a tree of life as a many-branched tree illustrating the idea that all life on earth is related has been used in science, religion, philosophy, mythology, and other areas. A tree of life is variously;
  1. a motif in various world theologies, mythologies, and philosophies;
  2. a metaphor for the livelihood of the spirit.
  3. a mystical concept alluding to the interconnectedness of all life on our planet; and
  4. a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense.
According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, the tree of knowledge, connecting heaven and the underworld, and the tree of life, connecting all forms of creation, are both forms of the world tree or cosmic tree.According to some scholars, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, portrayed in various religions and philosophies, are the same tree. ~Wikipedia
